Dr. Harshvardhan Pandit

Dr. Harshvardhan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing at Dublin City University. In addition, he is a member of the EMPOWER research programme and a researcher at ADAPT, the SFI Centre for Digital content and Technology. His research interests are focused on the application of semantics towards solving real-world challenges associated with privacy and regulatory compliance with a specific focus on consent and responsible AI development. His PhD (Computer Science, Trinity College Dublin) explored creating knowledge graphs to assist with GDPR compliance related to consent and data flows. He currently chairs the 3C Data Privacy Vocabularies and Controls Community Group (DPVCG) – which develops interoperable vocabularies for privacy and data protection activities based on legal and practical requirements. He is a member of the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and contributes to ISO and European standardisation activities regarding privacy and consent.
