Professor Markus Helfert

Markus Helfert is a Professor of Digital Service Innovation and the Director of the Innovation Value Institute, the hub for Digital Transformation research at Maynooth University. He is also leading as Director of EMPOWER – the SFI-funded Programme on Data Governance. In his role as a principal investigator at Lero and ADAPT, he focuses on Digital Service Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Data Governance, where he conducts research on all three of these topics. In addition to working with several public and private organisations, he created a Data Quality Management framework to ensure data quality. Markus Helfert has authored more than 200+ academic articles, journal and book contributions and has presented his work at international conferences. Currently, he is leading two multi-million- euro projects on sustainable digital transformation and data governance, Digi+ and ENTRUST, funded by the EU under the Marie Sklowdowska-Curie programme.
